Bioregional living - the spirit of Cobana

Bioregional living means aligning life with the ecosystems, culture, and communities of a specific place - like Transylvania's Carpathian wilds.

At Cobana, this looks like rooted living and working: supporting regenerative agriculture, local crafts, bioeconomy, and maintaining community ties. Global teams arrive to learn, contribute, and carry inspiration home.

Cobana is the guesthouse where local and global voices gather to learn, work, and co-create amid Europe's wildest landscapes. We host residencies, workshops, and retreats serving this bioregion's nature, culture, and communities.

Our primary focus is Transylvania: supporting people and projects rooted in this region to grow regenerative agriculture, community‑based tourism, traditional crafts and bioeconomy initiatives. People come here to align their work with the land, deepen relationships and move concrete projects forward.

Cobana also welcomes teams and initiatives from other regions who want to explore a regenerative approach. When they come, they plug into the local community and practices, learn from what is emerging here, and take that inspiration back to their own landscapes.

With our partners, we use facilitation methods such as TeamFlow Alignment and other collaborative tools when helpful, always in service of grounded, place‑based regeneration. Surrounded by the forests and peaks of Piatra Craiului National Park, Cobana offers the conditions for deep work and deep connection — for those ready to build futures that honour land, culture and community.
